La Panga Antigua has been a culinary icon in the San Jose dining scene for the last 12 years. We strive to source the best and freshest ingredients we can find, to bring you an exceptional culinary experience in La Panga. We now own and operate are own 100% organic farm in nearby Pescadero on the Pacific coast which grows all our vegetables and fruit : from farm to table.
Our passion for Seafood starts with buying the non-commercial fish , which are on everbody else's menu. We have handful of dedicated local panga fishermen who sell us the tastiest fish of these unspoiled waters that surround us: Cabrilla , Pargo, Roballo, white and black Seabass. These fish are all so outstanding in taste and texture that we take extra care in are recipes that none of that is lost in the cooking process.
We buy our meats from a farm in Sonora that is certified hormone free. Our prime cuts are wet-aged for 7 days at the right temperature to enhance the full meat flavour.
We specialize in private events and corporate outings. The setting is fantastic for those events. We are very flexible in tailoring the menu to your needs and budget.
Enjoy and we hope to hear from you.
Our Culinary Philosophy
Enjoy what you eat
Our cuisine is best described as "Food without frontiers". We look towards all types of ethnic cuisines to inspire us for our recipes: Classic Mediterranean dishes as well as Asian seasoning and presentations are all present in our cuisine. Then we wrap it up with the best elements of the wonderful and complex Mexican cuisine. Our seafood dishes are truly amazing.
What our customers say
“Exellent Chef, Excellent Service, Beautiful Courtyard”Located across from the church on the side street we just happened to pass this restaurant and walked in to take a look. It was like taking a step back into a different time. The bartender convinced us to eat there saying the Chef would cook fish any way we would like. The courtyard was so beautiful. We had a very romantic dinner. The food was just yummy. I had the yellow tail and my husband had the pork chop. The Chef made an outstanding quinoa chutney with fruit and nuts. It was to die for. Even after I was full I just couldn't stop eating. Everything is cooked in on outside grill so you can see the preparation. We did seek out he Chef to let him know what a great meal we had. The service was wonderful and the staff so appreciative of our business. Thanks to the bartender for convincing us to dine here. We just loved it. This was our most romantic dinner while visiting Cabo and San Jose. Our compliments to the Chef, Staff and owner. Reasonable pricing. Visited March 2016 TripAdvisor level 3 contributor

“Fine dining in old Mexico”We had originally planned to go to Flora Farm but they were booked so the concierge recommended La Panga. The evening couldn't have been better. Our 8 top was seated in the courtyard and it felt like we were a million miles away from the Cabo party scene. Weather was beautiful, the roaming band didn't play any annoying La Bamba touristy music and the food was very good. Service I would consider a little slow, particularly for wine, but it was consistent with mostly every place we went on this trip. The scallop ceviche was fresh and delicious. The lamb chops came a perfect med rare and the beet puree that accompanied it really took it to another level. Some of the best lamb I've had in a long time. If you're looking for a quiet respite from the crowds and a fine dining experience with no sign of chips and salsa or guacamole, I highly recommend La Panga TripAdvisor level 5 contributor
“Fine Dining, Delicious Food, Reasonable Prices”A local recommendation brought us to this little gem just off the main square in San Jose del Cabo. Our party of 12 ordered a variety of appetizers, salads, main dishes, dessert, and wine. Everything we ordered was delicious. Steak and seafood was done perfectly. The prices were very reasonable for fine dining. It was about $120US per couple, so $60 per person. That included everything - appetizers, main dishes, desserts, and wine. Wait staff was eager to please, though communication was choppy as we didn't speak fluent Spanish and they didn't speak fluent English. Still, we communicated well enough to get everything we wanted. The atmosphere was perfect for fine dining. Occasionally musicians would roam through and play requests. Tables were on an outdoor courtyard accessed through the main entrance from the street. Absolutely charming. Visited March 2016 TripAdvisor level 5 contributor
